Maybe Focus on the Family should have thought of this instead...

Could this have been a better use of the organization's money, perhaps?

  2. Anonymous, I sure as sh!t hope you are not trying to imply that there will always be poor people, so screw them and spend your money on stupid Super Bowl ads where you didn't even have the guts to state your position openly.

If Focus on the Family wants women to risk their lives to birth unwanted children, the VERY LEAST they can do is feed the unwanted children who have already been birthed.

Focus on the Family is non-profit that claims this mission: "nurturing and defending the God-ordained institution of the family and promoting biblical truths worldwide."

Their organization functions from private donations. If you don't think that buying a super bowl ad was a wise use of their money to achieve their goals, then that's fine - don't donate to them. However, enough people donated enough money to make this happen. If not for this ad, you would not have discussed their organization...sort of a end from the means.

  5. Anon the second: I would love for FotF to define the "God-ordained institution of the family" and to back up its definition with "biblical truths." Because the way FotF defines "family" is not the way the Bible does.

Perhaps FotF should also spend some time reviewing the key "biblical truths" and commandments Jesus left for us.

I notice and discuss this organization and its hate often; this ad is just one of the times. I doubt they even gained any new "supporters" or donors from this controversy, since they couldn't even stick to their misogynistic guns and say what they wanted to say in their ad. If you hadn't followed the controversy leading up to it, you would never have known the ad was supposed to be anti-choice. It came across as an ad for health care reform more than anything.

    Oh, and tackling your mom.
